In keeping with my interest in the Universe, looking up or towards the heavens is the context for this suite of highly inflated details. The drawings are reproductions of selected sections of skies found in Van Gogh's landscape drawings. Mined from plates of his work found in art books, the sections are as small as 3/4 inch by one inch. Once enlarged, the images are projected by an overhead and accurately drawn with ink and brush. The large dots were made with his hand cut reed pens and the small dots are half tone dots from the printing process. The tiny white shapes within the black dots are photocopier artifacts. This body of work is still in progress.
